These Links are from my Web research and trials of many different Software Applications. Downloads of Freeware, Shareware and Open Source Software, from 1998 till now, 2011. For over 6 Years Now, I have been Heavily into Linux and Open Source Software for Linux and Windows. Fedora Linux, along with Debian, ArtistX, Parted Magic, Mint, Peppermint and a CD-DVD List of about 35 other Linux Distros are my favorite Free Operating Systems Now!:) And there is a Whole World of Open Source Applications out there, for us to download, try out and work with, as well!:) From Word Processing, to Audio Video Editing, Watching Web Video and Listening to Music. A whole new WWW has opened up to me, through the Linux Open Source Movement!:) I have lots of links to Linux and Windows Free and Open Source Software Here. Computer Security Download Links

The best way I know of to protect your self from Viruses and Spyware is to Run Linux on your Computer. But, if you use a Windows Machine it's by using good AntiVirus and Anti Spyware Software, allong with a good Hardware Router and maybe a Software Firewall too. Here are two free AntiSpyware programs, these are my favorites. I find that alone they are ok, but together they work really well. What one misses the other finds. Of course you always need to keep a good AntiVirus software running and keep it up to date. I am now using a good Free AntiVirus Software called Avast Antivirus. You can download it free at Avast.com from these links.

Then if you want to go a step further in keeping people and unwanted programs out of your computer and from transmitting data about you online, you need a Firewall. A Hardware Firewall is best and I use a Software Firewall as well for added protection. No Protection is perfect and free Forewalls are getting harder to find. But if you use Windows 98 to WinXP, this one will run well on these Operating Systems and has auto configuration, allong with the abality to manually configure and a learning mode. After you teach it what your habbits are, it runs well and keeps you pretty well protected.
